Acne is not just a problem for teens. It is true, that most of us develop acne and experience our most extreme breakouts as teens, but that doesn’t mean it will just magically disappear once we hit our twenties. In fact, acne very often occurs, for women especially, after the teen years. As many as fifty percent of women in their 20’s, and thirty-five percent of women in their 30’s experience some form of acne.

So, now that we know for sure that acne is not just a teen problem, what can be done about it? Here at Skin Essentials Luxury Med Spa and Salon, we know that acne can be caused by a variety of factors ranging from hormones, diet, high blood sugar, or bacteria that spreads to your face from your hands. We can address acne of all types using a variety of treatment options, recommendations on proper diet, and home care products.

We will first begin with a consultation where we will put together an individual treatment plan based on your individual needs and skin type. We have many treatment options to choose from, and here we’ll highlight just a few.

Our signature acne treatment is done with our IPL machine and simultaneously kills the bacteria on the surface of the skin while slowing down the metabolism of the sebaceous glands which is where acne is produced. This treatment is best completed in a series of 3-5 alongside a home care regimen.

The acne rescue facial uses salicylic acid and tea tree to cool and soothe inflamed skin while fighting bacterial build up. Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid, which means it penetrates deep into the skin to exfoliate and unclog pores. The tea tree is an excellent antibacterial and wound treatment oil that will encourage the skin to heal.

The green peel, developed by Dr. Schrammek, will help stimulate new cell production to reveal healthier and more youthful skin. This peel is a mixture of eight different herbs containing enzymes, which will help address acne, pigmentation, and enlarged pores.

The retinol c peel is known to help reduce pigmentation, fine lines andwrinkles, and reveal a youthful, healthy glow. The retinol unclogs pores and reduces acne breakouts while the vitamin c helps the retinol to work better by stabilizing it and extending its effectiveness.

The treatments listed above are just a sampling of a variety of treatment options we have to help you manage your acne prone skin and reveal a healthier glow.
